2/3/26 11:15 a.m. --- Road Closure: Arbor Run Drive will be closed from Feldspare Lane to Ridge Gate Drive due to icy conditions on the hill. Please use alternate routes and avoid driving when possible.
2/3/26 11:00 a.m. --- Waste Management will begin servicing Monday's trash routes on Wednesday, Feb 4. They will begin later in the day and work until dark. Drivers will only service trash placed in the bin. Especially hazardous streets may not be serviced.
2/3/26 10:20 a.m. --- There have been no updates on trash/recycling routes from Waste Management. We will continue to contact them. To speak directly to Waste Management, please call 336-723-2784.
2/3/26 10:15 a.m. --- The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement: The remaining snow, ice, and slush have frozen hard early this morning. Areas of patchy black ice have also formed where there was any water from the melting snow and ice Monday afternoon.
2/1/26 6:00 p.m. --- Monday's trash routes have been delayed due to the extreme winter weather. Waste Management will assess conditions on Tuesday. According to WXII 12 News, Lewisville has received between 4.3"-6.8" of snowfall on 1/31/26. More updates will be posted here and on the Town's social media. Please use caution this week. Avoid unnecessary travel, do not park on streets, and do not pass snow plows. Town crews and contractors continue clearing Town-maintained streets as conditions allow.

- Winter Storm Warning from 1/30, 4 p.m. - 2/1 7 a.m.
- Extreme Cold Watch from 2/1 1 a.m. - 2/1 10 a.m.
- Cold Weather Advisory from 1/31 1 a.m. - 2/1 1 a.m.
1/29/26 10:45 a.m. --- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch beginning Friday 4 p.m. until Sunday 1 p.m. Thursday's trash/recycling routes are running as conditions allow. Some houses may be skipped due to icy conditions.
1/28/26 3:45 p.m. --- The National Weather Service is monitoring a possible winter storm to hit the Piedmont Triad beginning Friday, January 30. Town crews continue to clear streets and make preparations for severe weather. For state-maintained roads concerns, please contact the NCDOT Forsyth County division at 336-896-2350.
1/28/26 10:30 a.m. --- UPDATE: Monday and Wednesday routes will *not* run this week. Waste Management's trucks are unable to drive in these conditions. We will continue to update you as we receive more information.
1/28/26 10:15 a.m. --- Town crews continue to clear streets. For state-maintained roads concerns, please contact the NCDOT Forsyth County division at 336-896-2350.
1/27/26 5:10 p.m. --- Waste Management has updated this week's trash/recycling schedule. Monday's route will not be serviced this week. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday's routes will run as scheduled, but may start later in the day. Especially icy streets may have to be skipped and served at a later time. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
1/27/26 10:45 a.m. --- Town Hall will be closed on Tuesday, Jan 27.
1/26/26 8:30 p.m. --- Town Hall will operate on a 3-hour delay on Jan 27. The Mary Alice Warren Community Center and all Town parks will remain closed.
1/26/26 5:00 p.m. --- All trash/recycling routes the week of Jan 26 have been delayed due to winter weather. Thank you for your patience.
1/26/26 2:00 p.m. --- Town crews and contractors are working on snow removal. These efforts will continue throughout the week. Please note that the NCDOT will clear state-maintained roads. 1/25/26 7:30 p.m. --- The Mary Alice Warren Community Center will be closed on Monday, January 26. Town Hall will operate on a three-hour delay.
1/25/26 4:15 p.m. --- Monday's trash and recycling routes have been delayed due to winter weather conditions. Updates will be posted on Facebook and the Town website.
1/25/26 10:45 a.m. --- A blanket of snow has fallen overnight. Sleet and freezing rain are expected to continue throughout Sunday. 1/24/26 8:30 p.m. --- Lewisville Public Works crew has continued pretreating roads and preparing for winter weather. Lewisville parks are closed due to inclement weather. Residents are advised to stay inside and avoid unnecessary travel.
1/23/26 1:40 p.m. --- Lewisville Public Works crew has begun pretreating roads for wintery conditions.
1/23/26 10:15 a.m. --- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from Saturday, 1 p.m. to Monday, 1 p.m.
1/22/26 4:50 p.m. --- Winter weather preparations continue. Snow plowing contractors have been contacted.
1/20/26 3:12 p.m. --- In preparation for possible winter weather, Lewisville Public Works has stocked 47 tons of road salt to help keep roads safe.
1/20/26 11:00 a.m. --- We are currently watching the weather forecasts and have begun winter weather preparations.

Winter Weather Preparedness
Here are helpful tips selected by Lewisville Fire Department Chief Darin Needham and Assistant Chief Jesse Levy to stay safe during colder weather:
- Keep flammable objects at least three feet from all heat sources
- Never use an oven to heat your home
- Turn space heaters off when leaving the room or going to bed
- Never use candles for emergency lighting. Use flashlights and stock up on extra batteries
- Use surge protectors and consider unplugging appliances. Connect appliances to portable generators with heavy-duty extension cords
- Don’t fuel your generator when it is running
