Lewisville Civic Club Receives Town Award

The Lewisville Civic Club (LCC) was honored with the “I’m One of the Reasons Lewisville is a Great Place to Live” award from the Town of Lewisville.

Several past LCC presidents were present at the August council meeting to accept the plaque from Mayor Mike Horn and celebrate the many contributions the club has made to the town.

This was done in celebration of the 80th year of the LCC, which was established in 1945.

Mayor Horn also listed some of the achievements of the LCC, including leading efforts in the incorporation of the Town of Lewisville, the creation of the Lewisville Citizen town newsletter, forming the first Volunteer Lewisville Fire Department, the annual charity golf tournament, co-sponsoring the Town Tree Lighting, the Lewisville Christmas Parade, the Candidate Forum, contributing to the restoration and moving of the Nissen House, and providing continual support for Lewisville families in need.

Past Presidents present at the meeting include: Joe Eskridge, Jerry Farmer, Mike Jones, Kenneth King, Tom Lawson, Mark McClelland, Larry Morris, Brian Shumack, and Joyce Walker.

Current President Joe Beeler was unable to attend the meeting due to family obligations.

Congratulations to the LCC for this incredible legacy!
